Found a way to get my neighbor to stop dumping yard waste on my property line without being a jerk
Last month I noticed piles of grass clippings and branches creeping over into my yard from the guy next door. Instead of getting mad, I offered to share my compost bin setup with him. Told him I could use the extra material for my garden if he just dropped it in the right spot. He actually agreed and now we split the compost. Has anyone else tried trading something simple like that to fix a neighbor dispute over property lines?

Used to think you had to set hard boundaries with neighbors or risk getting walked all over. Your idea of turning the problem into a shared project is clever though. Makes me reconsider whether being firm always has to mean being confrontational.
