Update: I put 12 flyers up at the Laundromat on 5th and got 3 calls in 2 days
I help run a small neighborhood group that does free yard help for older folks, and we were stuck at 4 volunteers for weeks. Last Saturday I printed 12 cheap flyers at the library for $1.80 and taped them up at the Laundromat on 5th and the corner store by the park. I figured we might get one person. Instead I got 3 calls by Monday night, and two of them were retirees who want to help, not get help. One guy named Walt said he has a truck and a free Tuesday, which solves our whole hauling problem. I learned that the people who want to pitch in are already out doing errands, not scrolling some website. Where do you all actually find helpers for stuff like this? I am out of ideas beyond the library bulletin board.
