Found a quiet car on the 7:15 Amtrak, rode in peace for 2 hours
I usually take the 7:15 from New Haven to Penn Station and it's always packed with loud phone calls and group chats. Last Tuesday I walked to the last car on a whim and it was dead silent, like a library on wheels. Even the conductor whispered when checking tickets, which was wild to see. I got more reading done than I have in a month of commuting, plus my coffee stayed hot the whole ride. Now I'm wondering if that's just a luck thing or if certain cars are always quieter. Anyone else have a go-to spot on their train that's secretly the best seat in the house?

Stick to the last car going forward, it's a whole different world back there. Quiet car folks are a breed of their own.
