Spent 45 minutes on a bus next to a guy who actually read the route map

I've been taking the 72 bus downtown for three years and just assumed everyone else also just guessed which stop to pull the cord. This guy explained he always rides a new route once on his day off so he knows exactly where the transfer points are, which honestly never even crossed my mind. Am I the only one who just wings it and hopes for the best?

My sister is exactly like that guy. She drives me crazy because she'll spend an hour on Google Maps before we go anywhere new, plotting out every single turn and backup route. I always tell her she's overthinking it, but then I end up lost in some random neighborhood at 10 PM trying to find my way back to the highway. There's a whole personality divide here between the planners and the wingers, and the planners definitely live longer and calmer lives. Are you going to start studying the route map now or double down on the chaos?
