The bus driver pointed out my route cheat and it blew my mind

I've been taking the 8:15 bus from downtown for 2 years now. Last Tuesday the driver, Dave, said I should get off at Elm Street instead of Main because the bus loops back faster. He said I was wasting 12 minutes every day sitting through the extra stop. I tried it the next morning and he was totally right. Now I walk the extra block and get to work 10 minutes earlier. Has anyone else had a driver give them a tip that changed their whole commute?

Nathan you're so right about them hoarding secrets. I used to think bus drivers were just there to drive, but Dave proved me totally wrong. Now I'm lowkey annoyed at all the time I wasted before he said something.

Man, Dave the bus driver deserves a raise and a statue. I once had a driver tell me the stop I always got off at was actually a block past the coffee shop I wanted, and I had been walking back the wrong way for six months. Made me feel like a real genius, you know? Now I'm wondering what other secrets these drivers are hoarding. What other hidden shortcuts do you think they're sitting on?
