I was dead wrong about thermal paste being a gimmick

Used to think expensive thermal paste was just snake oil for people who watched too many PC building videos. Then I swapped from standard paste to a $10 tube of Kryonaut on my 6 year old rig and dropped my CPU temps by 15 degrees under load. What product did you think was pointless but actually proved you wrong?

Did you check if your old paste was completely dried out? That sounds like a pretty big drop for just a paste swap, but it honestly tracks if the old stuff had been in there since day one. I had the same thing happen with my old laptop - went from some generic white stuff to a slightly better one and saw like 10 degrees cooler. The trick is making sure you don't overdo it though, a pea sized drop is all you need, otherwise you're just making a mess. Also check your cooler mounting pressure while you're at it, loose screws can mess with temps way more than people realize.

The pea sized drop tip is gold, thanks man.
