Rant: Our local tech meetup got canceled because the library's network crashed.

Had to help them reset the router and now I'm the unofficial IT guy for the building, lmao.

Our library still uses those old Netgear routers from like 2015, so I'm not surprised. I get what @the_john is saying about helping a neighbor, but the trick is to not let it become a regular thing. You fix the router once, cool, but if they call you every Tuesday, you have to be ready to say the magic word, "no." It's the difference between a good deed and a free help desk gig.

Oh man, I see that differently. Sometimes fixing a simple issue is just being a good neighbor, not getting stuck with a job. I'd take it as a chance to help out, not a problem.
