A homeowner's comment about my joints changed my finishing process

Last month on a patio pour in Boise, the owner watched me work the expansion joints and said 'you're making those look too perfect, they'll crack right there.' He was right, I was tooling them too early and too deep, so now I wait until the bleed water is gone and cut them shallower with a groover. Has anyone else gotten a solid tip from a customer that you actually stuck with?

Funny you say that, my dentist gave me a tip about flossing once and it actually stuck too.
