Bought a cheap magnesium bull float and regret it

Picked up a 36" magnesium bull float from a budget brand for $45 last month. Second pour with it and the blade started warping in the sun. Had to switch back to my old wood float mid-job. Shoulda just spent the extra $30 on a name brand. Anyone else had bad luck with the cheaper magnesium tools?

Eh... a little warping ain't the end of the world.

Just give it a good overnight soak in warm water with a bit of dish soap. That usually takes out any warp if it's not too bad. Have you tried that trick yet?

Man that sucks, I've been there. A little warping in the sun turns into a big problem real fast when you're trying to get a smooth finish. I'd try the warm water soak trick but honestly if it warped that quick it's probably gonna keep doing it. Next time just save up for the ProForm or Marshalltown, they hold up way better in the heat.
