Guy at the supply yard told me my float was 'cute'
Happened last Tuesday at the big yard off Route 9. I was grabbing a new magnesium bull float. This older guy in line behind me points at my old 4-footer and says, 'That's a cute little tool for a lady.' I just stared at him. My 'cute' float has finished more driveways in this county than he's probably ever seen. Ever get a comment that just makes you shake your head?

Route 9 on a Tuesday, that tracks. The sheer nerve to call a 4-foot magnesium float 'cute' is just wild to me. That's a proper workhorse tool, not a garden trowel.

Ugh, classic. I just hold up the tool and say 'Yeah, it gets the job done' real flat. Usually shuts them up.

Phoenixp90 has the right idea with the deadpan delivery. Sometimes adding a slow, deliberate wipe of the blade with a rag before you put it away really sells the vibe. It turns their dumb comment into background noise.
