Just realized my sister's way of helping on jobsites is just like our family talks.

We were finishing a basement floor last week. My sister kept double-checking the edges, which I found annoying. But it hit me that she does the same thing when we plan family stuff. In my experience, that carefulness comes from our mom always saying 'do it right the first time'. It gave the long day a link to home life.

Yep, that "do it right" thing sticks with you. Makes sense she brings it everywhere.

But always needing to do it right can make things too hard. It can stop you from trying new stuff because you fear making mistakes. Sometimes, good enough is fine, and trying to be perfect just wastes time. People who bring that attitude everywhere might miss out on fun or learning from errors. In the end, being too strict about doing it right might not help as much as we think.

What if doing it right from the start saves you more time later?
