inPSA: I tried skipping the title block on a set of residential plans and the city actually approved them.
That's brutal, @the_ray. Sometimes it feels like they only look at the font size and nothing else.

inFound a way to make a full pot of soup for under $5 that actually tastes good
My mom's potato and leek soup is the best. Just boil them with some broth and blend it smooth.

inVent: Overheard a customer at the shop call a chain 'just a chain'
Tell them it's the only part of the bike that touches two other moving parts thousands of times per mile. A worn chain grinds down your cassette and chainrings, turning a thirty dollar fix into a two hundred dollar repair real fast. I just say keeping it clean and lubed is cheap insurance for the expensive stuff.

inA grill-out chat about engine noise shifted how I explain things
Ever notice how people just need to hear "that's usually nothing" first? I do the same thing when a client hears a weird house noise, like @charlie_allen said, you gotta translate your normal. I'll name one simple cause, like the water heater ticking, and only go deeper if they ask. It stops the panic before it starts.
