Learned I was floating wrong after 12 years, a customer's dog tipped me off
Been finishing driveways in Tacoma for over a decade and always used a bull float before the mag. Last Tuesday this golden retriever runs across a wet slab and leaves perfect paw prints, then I noticed the area I'd floated looked smooth but the edges were wavy. Turns out I was tilting the float too much on the forward push, the dog basically showed me my mistake. Anyone else have a weird moment where some random thing exposed a bad habit in your finishing technique?
