Spent 6 months chasing a leak in my basement before I found it was just a bad seal on a window I never opened
Last Tuesday after a heavy rain I finally noticed a tiny drip coming from the top corner of the frame, not the floor where I'd been checking, and now I feel stupid but at least it's fixed - has anyone else overlooked something that simple for that long?

Man that's rough. I had a similar thing with a weird rattling noise in my car that drove me nuts for months. Turned out it was just a loose coin stuck between the seat rail and the floor. I tore apart the dashboard, checked the suspension, even took it to a mechanic who charged me for a "diagnostic" and found nothing. Then one day I dropped my phone under the seat and saw the glint of a penny. Felt like the biggest idiot alive but also kind of proud I solved it. Sometimes you get so focused on the big stuff you forget to check the simple things right in front of you.

Loose coin between the seat and the floor" - dude I felt that pain just reading it. I had a similar thing with a mysterious squeak in my apartment that drove me crazy for weeks. Turned out it was a single plastic spoon stuck behind the fridge. I had ripped the whole kitchen apart looking for a mouse or something. Now every time I hear a weird noise I just check the stupid obvious stuff first. But yeah, it's a good reminder that we're all just idiots who overcomplicate everything.
