I started using a small fan to speed up gel polish cures on humid days

My station in Miami gets so muggy that my top coats would stay tacky for almost 20 minutes sometimes. I set a little desktop fan from the supply closet to blow gently across the client's hands while they were under the lamp, and it cut the cure time in half. Has anyone else found a simple fix for humidity messing with your service?

Read a blog post from a tech in New Orleans who swears by those little silica gel packets. She tucks a few into her polish rack drawers to keep the bottles dry, says it helps the formula stay consistent. I tried it with some from a shoe box, and it did seem to make the polish less stringy on really bad days. Your fan idea is smarter though, going right for the cure.

My old boss in Tampa kept a dehumidifier running in the back room.

Wait, silica packets actually work for that?
