A guy at the Columbus craft fair told me my candles smell like a fancy hotel lobby, still not sure if that was a compliment
I sell soy candles out of my garage and I did the Columbus craft fair back in March, $75 for the booth. This one guy picked up my cedar and vanilla jar, sniffed it twice, and said it smelled like a fancy hotel lobby, then just put it down and walked off without another word. I stood there for a second replaying it in my head trying to figure out if he meant it in a good way or a boring way. Half my sales that day came from that exact scent so I guess it worked, but I've been second guessing that one jar ever since. Has anyone else gotten a weird comment from a customer that you could not stop thinking about for weeks?

Smelled like a fancy hotel lobby" is candle talk for you just sold a $30 jar to a guy who'll never admit he liked it.
