Serious question, did anyone know the average craft fair vendor only clears about $200 a weekend after booth fees?
My wife has been doing the local craft fair circuit for about 18 months now and I always figured she was making decent money at it. Then I sat down last weekend and actually added up her booth fees, supplies, and mileage for the last 6 shows, and it came out to just under $1,200 profit total. She said the lady at the booth next to her in Columbus mentioned most vendors she knows quit after a year because the math never works. I had no clue the table fees alone were eating 30 to 40 percent of sales at some of these events. For folks who do this, are you actually coming out ahead, or is it more of a break-even hobby with extra steps?
