My $30 thrift store receiver fixed my whole vinyl setup
I spent months blaming my turntable for how flat everything sounded. Upgraded the cartridge, even bought new speakers. Then last Saturday I grabbed a 1990s Pioneer receiver from a Habitat for Humanity in Austin for $30. Plugged it in and suddenly the low end actually existed. Problem was my old amp, which I got for free and never questioned. Anyone else found the missing link in their chain was the cheap part they ignored?

Read somewhere the phono stage matters way more than people think. Glad you found it.
