The audiobook chapter that made me pull over and rewind
I was listening to a fantasy series on my commute through Burlington last Tuesday and the narrator suddenly switched voices for two characters, sounded like an editing mistake. I had to stop at a gas station and check the chapter list to confirm it wasn't my phone glitching. Has anyone else hit a production error like that and lost the whole immersion?
That kind of thing drives me nuts too. The whole point of an audiobook is to get lost in the story, and a voice switch yanks you right out of it. Had that happen once with a narrator who changed a main character's accent halfway through a series. Pulled over, checked my phone, even restarted the app before I realized it was the recording itself. You lose all the momentum and it takes a while to get back into it. Solidarity, that's a rough commute when that happens.
