Picked the $40 power saw over the $250 one, got what I paid for

I needed a circular saw for a fence repair in Austin and had to decide between a cheap used one and a nicer model from a guy selling tools out of his garage. The cheap one looked fine in the photos, so I went with it to save cash. First cut through a 2x4 took forever and the blade wobbled bad. By the third cut the motor started smoking and I had to stop. Has anyone else gambled on the low price and ended up buying the good one anyway?
