Finally figured out why my taglines kept snagging after 8 years on the job
I was running a 90 ton lattice crawler last Tuesday on a site near Portland and every pick with a load over 12 tons had the tagline wrapping up around the pendant lines. Thought it was the wind or the rigging crew for months. Then I watched an older operator finish his pick and I noticed he keeps his tagline reel mounted on the opposite side of the boom than I do. I had mine on the left since day one because that's how my first foreman showed me. Swapped it to the right side yesterday and ran 6 picks smooth as anything. Has anyone else discovered a small setup thing that you did wrong forever just because someone taught you once?
