Load charts vs real life: found a 35% discrepancy at an old site
Was reviewing an old job file from a 2019 site in Tulsa and the load chart said a 50 ton can sit 42,000 lbs at 30 feet. But the operator notes showed we actually rigged 28,000 and it still felt sketchy. Are you guys trusting the charts to the letter or building in your own buffer based on ground conditions?

Ah yes, the load chart, also known as the纸 fantasy novel that assumes you're lifting off a perfect concrete pad in a vacuum. That 35% gap is just the chart's way of saying good luck out there, especially when the ground looks like it was last graded during the Carter administration. Trust the numbers if you want, but the dirt always gets the final vote.
