I kept killing every prompt with a perfect plan, then a reader called me out

For like 2 years I'd outline every scene to death before writing, but my stories always felt flat and lifeless. A commenter on a Friday prompt thread said my protagonist sounded like a robot following a script, and I realized I was so busy planning that I never let the character just react.
