Three weeks into a daily prompt journal and I just wrote the same flood story 4 times
I started keeping a prompt journal back in January to get back into writing after years away from it, and I've been pulling one prompt a day from an old deck my sister gave me. The problem is I keep answering "write about a time you lost something" with the same story about my dog running off during a storm in 2019, just with different details each time, and I only noticed because I was flipping back through the pages. Is this a sign I should ditch the deck and just write whatever pops into my head, or do I need to push through and trust that the repetition is actually saying something?
