Finally stopped losing my keys by taping a tiny rare earth magnet inside my bag's front pocket
After digging through my backpack like an idiot at the Denver airport twice in one trip, I glued a $2 neodymium magnet to the inside of the small pocket and now my keys snap right to it every time, so has anyone found a good spot for a flashlight the same way?
Got to admit I always figured magnets in bags were a gimmick and never bothered trying it. Then I did almost the same thing last month after losing my keys in a rental car lot for twenty minutes. Taped a magnet inside the top pocket and now I just toss them in and they stick. For a light, the side pocket on my backpack works if the light has a clip, since the metal body grabs the magnet too. I stuck a small one near the top so it sits upright and I can grab it without digging. Never thought a two dollar magnet would change how I pack, but here we are.
