I always figured a $20 titanium clip was just a way to lose a knife faster, but then a trucker in Reno pulled out a beat up folder he'd carried 8 years on the same clip with zero issues. Mine's been in my pocket since March and I've dropped it twice on concrete already, no scratches on the clip and the knife never moved. So what's the real reason people still run bare pocket knives with no clip at all?

Why would you carry a knife loose in your pocket where it flops around and you gotta dig for it? I threw a clip on my old Buck and never looked back, it just stays put and comes out smooth every time.
