My $2 thrift store bread maker makes the best bagels I've had in Concord

Picked it up at the Weirs Beach flea market last Saturday for the price of a coffee and after three failed tries with the dough setting I finally got the water bath timing right, so has anyone else had luck rescuing old appliances instead of buying new?
