Passed on the $15 bag of apples at the Concord farmers market for the $6 ones at Market Basket and now I feel like a sucker
Bought the cheaper ones last Saturday, and half the bag was mealy by Monday, so next time I will just pay the extra $9 and stop pretending I can taste the difference in a pie.

Wait, mealy by Monday? That's only two days. What were you doing, storing them in the trunk of your car? I've had bags from Market Basket last almost two weeks in the fridge drawer before they even started going soft. Maybe you just got a bad batch, because that turnaround time sounds off to me. Unless you left them sitting on the counter in direct sun, I don't see how they fall apart that fast.
