Raked three yards last fall with a cheap leaf blower and nearly quit halfway through

Borrowed my neighbor's Stihl backpack blower for the last house and finished in half the time without my arms going numb... never realized how much the weight and air speed mattered. Now I'm hunting for a used one on Marketplace but not sure if the older models are worth grabbing. Anybody got experience picking up used Stihl blowers around Concord?

Wait, are the old ones actually built better or just heavier?

Hey @robert_smith36, that's like asking if a cast iron skillet is "just heavy" or actually better! I've dropped my dad's old Craftsman drill from a ladder and it just laughed at me. Dropped my new one from waist height and it shattered like a cheap toy. So yeah, they're built different in my book. The weight comes from real metal parts instead of plastic gears that give up on life after one tough job.
