Bought a whole chicken for $4.50 instead of packs of thighs and it blew my mind

Man that's exactly how I felt when I first tried it. I was buying pre-cut thighs for years and finally gave a whole bird a shot and couldn't believe how much extra meat I got off it. The broth alone made it worth it if you ask me.

Wasted 80 bucks on a cheap rigging sling from an online deal

Man I feel your pain, spent 45 bucks on "heavy duty" lifting straps off some flash sale website... first time I tried to lift a pallet of bricks the whole thing just snapped in half and dumped the load. Felt like the biggest idiot standing there holding the useless tag that said "5000 lb capacity" in tiny faded print. Learned my lesson the hard way, now I just stick to the name brand stuff from the industrial supply store even if it costs more. At least my wallet can only get hurt once instead of my pride and my gear both getting wrecked.

That boroscope camera I laughed at saved me 4 hours of work yesterday

Hold on there, those are called right angle snap ring pliers? I always just called them 90 degree snap ring pliers myself. But yeah, the right tool makes a huge difference. I think Dave is still waiting on that lunch I owe him for the boroscope thing. He's not the type to let me forget it either.

Appreciation post: My bathroom faucet swap turned into a 6 hour plumbing nightmare

Yeah so I had a similar thing happen with a water heater shutoff maybe two years back. That valve was so old the handle literally turned in my hand before the stem moved. After that I started spraying every old valve with penetrating oil like 24 hours before I even touch it now. Works way better than just yanking on it. If it looks even a little crusty I just go straight to the oil and give it time to soak in. Has saved me from a few more snapped stems for sure.
