The lady at the Concord Goodwill knocked $4 off a lamp because of one small crack
I was at the Goodwill on Loudon Road in Concord two Saturdays ago and picked up a brass lamp tagged $12. The woman working the counter turned it over, pointed at a hairline crack near the base, and knocked the price down to $8 without me asking. She mentioned they mark down anything with a flaw like that so folks aren't surprised when they get it home. I fixed the crack with a bit of glue and the lamp looks fine on my side table. It got me thinking about which local spots are honest about condition instead of just trying to move stuff out the door. Where have you all found staff who point out a flaw before you pay for it?
So she saved you four bucks and you still had to do the repair work yourself, sounds like a solid deal for Goodwill. Maybe I should start cracking stuff before I get to the register.
