Serious question, my tub faucet started dripping the night before we listed the house in Denver
We were two days from listing our place in Denver and I noticed a drip from the tub faucet at 10pm on a Thursday. I figured it was just a worn washer so I shut off the water, pulled the handle, and found the valve seat was pitted and chewed up. The hardware store on Colorado Blvd was closed, so I ran to a 24 hour spot and grabbed a seat wrench and a new stem for about $34. Got it buttoned up by midnight and the drip stopped, though I'm still not sure if I should have just paid a plumber to be safe. Has anyone here replaced a valve seat themselves and did it hold up long term?
