Walked 6.2 miles around Wash Park on Saturday and my cheap step counter said I burned 1,100 calories
That number feels way too high for a walk, so now I don't trust the thing at all. What do you all use to track steps around here, or do you just skip the numbers?
6.2 miles is a 10k, so a walk that long burning 1,100 is pretty believable actually. The step counters are usually off by 10-20% either way, so you're right not to trust it fully. Phone apps like Strava or just the built in health app track it fine for me.
