Lost a $5,000 contract over a dead laptop at The Bronx Bar last Tuesday

I was meeting a potential client at The Bronx Bar in Midtown to go over their marketing strategy. My laptop just died halfway through the pitch and I didn't have backups on my phone. I lost the deal to someone else who was more prepared. Has anyone set up a solid backup system for on-the-go meetings?

Honestly, you mentioning "The Bronx Bar" is key here. Laptops dying in a loud, crowded bar where people are spilling drinks is basically asking for trouble. I think most backup plans focus on tech but forget the environment. You should have a waterproof case or a bag that keeps your gear safe from spills, not just a dead battery. Ngl, I keep a cheap tablet in my bag with all my pitch docs loaded, and I never take it out until I'm at the table.

Totally agree with you @robert_smith36, I've actually done the same thing with an old phone.

It's Funny how we all end up doing the same things just in different packages.
