The 6 month networking group switch that actually worked for me
I spent two years in a general Detroit chamber group and got maybe 3 leads total. Switched to a small manufacturing focused roundtable in Warren 6 months ago and I've already landed two solid contracts and a referral for a warehouse security system. What kind of groups have you guys had the best luck with for B2B in the metro area?

Just read somewhere that most sales teams lose about 50% of their leads in the first year alone because of slow follow up... so 3 leads actually falling through the pipeline over 2 full years might be pretty standard depending on the industry. Heard another stat from a SaaS report saying the average conversion rate from qualified lead to close is around 20% anyway, so three real opportunities could've been worse. The real killer is when a salesperson gets 10 or 12 leads and only closes one... that's when you start asking if they're actually reaching out properly or just sitting on them. But 3 leads over 24 months sounds like a steady flow, not a failure. Depends a lot on the product too, some stuff takes a long time to sell and that's just how it goes.
