Thought the $150 Mingle & Main mixer in Corktown was a waste until I left with 3 real leads
I skipped the Mingle & Main event at the Corktown spot on Michigan Ave for a year because I figured paying $150 for a networking night was just buying overpriced drinks. My buddy Dave dragged me to the one last Thursday and I ended up talking to a guy named Marcus who runs a print shop over on Trumbull, plus two other folks who actually followed up the next morning. I used to think free meetups were just as good, but the paid ones seem to filter out the people who are actually there to do business. Anyone else notice the paid events in Detroit pull a way better crowd than the free ones?
