Warning: I skipped the BNI meeting at the Marriott in Troy and it cost me a $4,200 job
I always figured those weekly networking breakfasts were just people trading business cards over cold eggs, so I blew off the Tuesday 7am meeting in Troy for about 4 months straight. Then a guy I finally grabbed coffee with at the Roasting Plant downtown showed me the chapter's referral sheet, and last quarter alone those 22 members passed each other $180,000 in tracked work. Anyone else here actually seen real money come out of a referral group, or am I the only one who had to learn this the hard way?
