Spent 5 hours on a no crank on a 6.7 Cummins because of a loose ground strap behind the block
Had a 2014 Ram 2500 come in last Tuesday with a no crank, and I figured it was the starter or the batteries, easy money. Threw a starter at it, still dead, checked both batteries and they tested good on the load tester. Started chasing voltage drop and it took me 5 hours total to find the ground strap on the back of the block was loose and corroded under the loom where you can't see it. Cleaned it up and it fired right off, felt dumb but also glad I didn't sell him a $400 starter for nothing. Anyone got a better way to check those hidden grounds without pulling half the harness apart?
