The fuel return line trick I wish I learned sooner

Been watching guys in the shop purge air out of injector lines by cranking the starter over and over until the battery dies. Took me way too long to figure out that cracking the fuel return line on the filter housing does it in about 20 seconds flat. I was one of those guys wasting a full battery charge on a Cummins ISX last Tuesday, then the old foreman came over and showed me. He just loosened the return fitting, primed the pump, and let the air bubble out through there instead of fighting the high pressure side. Now I do it on every prime and I havent had a no-start follow up since. Anybody else got a trick that makes the new guys look silly when they finally learn it?
