Found my DeviantArt gallery from 2008 and whew

I stumbled on my old digital paintings from high school and the difference is wild. I used to spend 4 hours on a single anime eye with a mouse, now I crank out full scenes in Procreate in half the time. Has anyone else gone back and looked at their early stuff lately?

Oh man, that anime eye thing really hits home. I spent so many hours on those old dragon ball z fan arts with the chunky tablet and the worst brush settings. Going back is almost painful because I can see all the hard work but also the total lack of understanding of basic anatomy. It's a weird mix of pride and cringe, you know? Procreate is such a game changer now, but I still kind of miss the raw feeling of finally getting that one eye to look somewhat right after hours of work.

Honestly what worked for me was just going back and redoing some of those old drawings side by side with the originals. Its wild seeing how much youve actually learned even if it felt like you were stuck for years lmao.
