My tablet slipped off a $12 stand at 2am and erased 6 hours of line art, and I think the fix taught me more than the piece
I was finishing a 12 layer character piece for a local gallery show in Columbus when the cheap plastic stand gave out and the tablet face planted onto my desk. The file got corrupted and I lost 6 hours of clean line work I had been doing in one take. I sat there for maybe 10 minutes just staring at it, then instead of redoing the exact same lines I rebuilt it with a chunkier brush and looser shapes. Turned out the gallery picked that version over the original idea and I've kept a clamp on my desk since. Does anyone else find that losing work forces a style change they wouldn't have tried on purpose?
