My tablet stylus died mid-commission, so I had to choose between a $6 knockoff and finger painting
My stylus battery gave out at 11pm last Tuesday while I was halfway through a client's character portrait in Procreate. The only open shop near me in Columbus was a 24 hour drugstore, so I grabbed a $6 no-name stylus that turned out to have the precision of a crayon. I went with it anyway because the deadline was Wednesday morning, and my line art came out looking like it was drawn during an earthquake. The client said it had "charm" and paid full price, which honestly says more about clients than my art. Has anyone else had a cheap backup tool actually save a deadline, or am I the only one living this way?
Six bucks for a drugstore stylus and it still got the job done? That part blows my mind, not the earthquake line art. That client calling it "charm" and paying full price is wild. Not sure if that's a good client or just someone who can't tell bad lines from good ones.
