30 day email purge backfired, now I miss important stuff
I did the whole unsubscribe from everything and filter all the noise thing last month. Worked great for about 2 weeks, inbox was clean, felt like a champ. Then my kid's school sent the field trip permission slip as a reply to an old thread I had archived, and I missed the deadline. Paid $45 late fee and got a guilt trip from the teacher. The tip off was when my wife asked why I didn't RSVP to her cousin's wedding invite that came as a pdf attachment inside a newsletter I blocked. Anyone else nuke their inbox too hard and lose track of the real stuff? How do you sort the important from the junk without going full delete-everything?

Did I just sign up for 47 new junk lists trying to find the one good newsletter that had a vet appointment reminder buried in it? Yeah, that was me last month. My inbox is now a landfill of "exclusive deals" and I still missed my own dentist confirmation, so I feel your pain on the field trip thing. Have you tried making a separate folder for anything with "school" or "family" in the sender name, then just checking that one first thing every morning?
