Spent 45 minutes looking for a file I saved with a cryptic name in 2019
Finally found it buried in a folder called 'stuff' inside another folder called 'old stuff.' Has anyone else wasted more time hunting for lost files than actually doing the work itself?

Is it really that serious though? I mean yeah it sucks to hunt through folders but 45 minutes is basically just one episode of a show you'd binge anyway. Unless you were on a deadline and every second counted, that lost time is just part of the fun little scavenger hunt we all run for ourselves. I've definitely spent longer scrolling through old downloads looking for something I swore I'd remember, only to give up and find it by accident six months later. At that point it's less of a disaster and more of a free nostalgia trip through your own messy digital life.

Eh, 45 minutes is way different than scrolling through downloads for a few minutes here and there lol. Old downloads folders are usually just one or two clicks away, but buried folders inside folders named "stuff" is a whole different beast. I had a similar folder setup called "misc" inside "desktop crap" and it took me an hour to find a PDF I needed for taxes once. Not exactly a fun nostalgia trip when you're sweating over a deadline.
