Went to a coffee shop in Austin and counted 14 people staring at phones, zero talking

Sat at Cuvee Coffee off Springdale last Tuesday for an hour. 14 people at the tables around me, all with their heads down, scrolling or typing. Two couples sat together and neither said a word the whole time. I left my phone in the car on purpose, and honestly, it felt weird to be the only one just sitting there. Has anyone else gone to a public spot and done a quick screen count? Makes me wonder if it's even worth trying to declutter when everyone else is glued.

Jeez, two whole couples not saying a word to each other the entire hour? That's wild, I'd have been tempted to ask if they were on a first date or something.
