A client in Lisbon told me my writing was too polite and it fixed my workflow

I used to soften every email and report draft, worried about sounding pushy. Last month a client in Lisbon straight up said, 'You write like you're apologizing for existing, just tell me what you recommend.' So I started cutting filler words and leading with the action item. I saved about 90 minutes per proposal since I stopped second-guessing every sentence. It also made my project updates way easier to skim, which clients seem to love. Has anyone else gotten feedback that felt harsh at first but actually made your process simpler?
