Hot take: Those magnetic tool holders are a scam for workbenches
I spent $35 on a heavy duty magnetic strip for my bench in Austin and stuff kept sliding off every time I bumped the table. I went back to a simple pegboard with hooks from the hardware store for $12 and it holds my wrenches way better, anyone else ditch the magnets for something basic?

Buddy of mine in Houston put one of those magnetic strips up in his garage. First time he leaned a steel tape measure against it the thing slid down and cracked the lens on his work light. He pulled the strip off the wall that same afternoon and threw it in a parts bin. Swears by an old pegboard with those metal hooks you can bend to fit whatever tool you hang on it. Says the magnets are fine for holding a single screwdriver but anything with weight just finds a way to hit the floor.

Buddy of mine had the same problem with one of those magnetic strips in his shed. His wrench set slid off in the middle of the night and landed right on his toe. He ripped that thing off the wall first thing next morning and went back to pegboard too.
