Debate: Involving my teen in CAD work for our backyard project
My son really wants to help draft the plans for a new shed using my software. It seems like a cool way to spend time together and show him the trade. But I'm scared it could lead to messy drawings or slow me down a lot. How do you guys deal with family helping on your drafting jobs?

Thought letting my nephew help with a floor plan would be a disaster. I was sure he'd mess up the layers and slow me to a crawl. But his fresh eyes caught a measurement error I'd missed three times. Now I see the mess as part of the process, and he learns faster than I did. Your kid might surprise you, and the time spent is worth the slow start.

Man, that hits home. My kid pointed out a wiring flaw in my shed project last month. I was ready for a total redo, but his fix actually worked better. Sometimes their brains just work different, you know? Makes all the mess and slow downs worth it when they show you up like that.

My buddy's daughter fixed his leaky faucet with a paperclip once.
