Found out the average drywaller goes through 1,200 screws a day
Read it in a trade magazine article about material waste. Honestly, I counted mine on a big residential job in Phoenix last week and I was over 1,500. Ngl, that number feels about right but it still blew my mind. How many do you guys usually burn through on a standard install?

Counted my own work on a commercial job last month and it was way under that. We're doing metal stud and drywall, and a good day is maybe 800 screws if we're flying. A lot of guys overdrive and waste screws fixing their own mistakes. Good layout and planning cuts that number down big time.

Man, I feel you on that. It's rough when you actually track the numbers and see how much work it really takes to get a job done right. The good days where everything clicks are few and far between. Most of the time you're fighting with bad layout or fixing someone else's mess. That's just the nature of the trade. It's a grind, no doubt about it.

Exactly, a sharp pencil saves a ton of screws.
