I know everyone loves the 4 foot lift for ceilings, but I switched back to a 6 foot and my shoulders are thanking me.

Your shoulders are thanking you" seems like a strong reaction. It's just a few inches difference on a pull up bar. I've used both and never felt a major strain either way. Maybe it's more about your form than the height.

Hold up, @theaward, you really think a few inches doesn't matter? Try being my height and having to fully dead hang with your knees almost on the ground, it completely messes up your starting position. That slight bend from a higher bar makes a world of difference for shoulder engagement.
